You do not need to include the entire subject. In this case the mask was drawn to exclude the hair and ears. Only the face itself was included in the final model.

The stereo photographs were taken using a pair of cameras mounted 12 cm apart on a stereo mount. The photographs were taken simultaneously to avoid movement in the subject.
