There are many species of Eucalypt, all of which shed a layer of
bark each year. The trunk of this species, which shows a twisted grain, is about 50 cm in diameter.
The section is that part of the trunk which has divided into two branches.
The stereo photographs were taken with a hand-held camera at a distance of about 1.5 metre.
This gum nut is about 3cm high. Because of its size this model was made
using a camera on the macro setting and focussed on the gumnut just 15cm
in front of the lens.
