There are many species of Eucalypt, all of which shed a layer of bark each year. The trunk of this species, which shows a twisted grain, is about 50 cm in diameter. The section is that part of the trunk which has divided into two branches.

The stereo photographs were taken with a hand-held camera at a distance of about 1.5 metre.

This gum nut is about 3cm high. Because of its size this model was made using a camera on the macro setting and focussed on the gumnut just 15cm in front of the lens.
